Craft breweries are close-knit, traditional, and self-starters. These are breweries that brew beer the way it was always intended – in small clusters with traditional ingredients and satisfying flavors. The Craft Beer Club offers the opportunity for you to tour craft beers from all over the United States from the comfort of your own home. No more limiting yourself from the low-quality mass produced beer from the corner store.
What Makes Craft Beer Club Unique?
The concept behind the Craft Beer Club is the same as any other item of the month club. As a subscriber, you receive a shipment of said item once a month. While there are several wine and beer of the month clubs to choose from, Craft Beer Club is unique in the type of beer it offers. Each month you get to soak your taste buds in craft beers from a variety of breweries. If you want to enjoy the taste of traditional craft beer that may not be available in your state, this club membership is certainly worth your consideration.
How The Signup Process Works
In order to sign up, a new member would start by navigating to the “Join the Club” page on the website. The page contains several drop down menus for new members to confirm how many beers they want in each shipment, how many shipments they want, and how often they want the shipment. Once you finish making your selections you click the “add to cart” button and then proceed to check-out. If you have not already registered for an account with the website, you will register for one when you check-out to make future purchases go smoother.
Pricing and Value
While you can only select 12 or 24 beers, you can choose anywhere from one to six shipments or 12 shipments if you want to join the club for a year. At three shipments and six shipments, new members get special gifts. At 12 shipments, new members get both gifts and a $25 discount. Each shipment costs $42 with the best values being the 3, 6, or 12-month shipments. Unlike other beer and wine clubs, shipping is included in the cost of the $42 monthly shipments.
Public Perception (Other Craft Beer Club Reviews)
Before signing up to become a member of the Craft Beer Club, it makes sense to want to know what other members think about the club. Most members agree the perks of the club outweigh the cons. For example, the club doesn’t require any form of contract to sign up, so you never get stuck with a cancellation fee. Members love that you can skip deliveries if finances are ever tight. And, everyone agrees the free gifts with the 3, 6, and 12-month shipments are a nice cherry on top of what the club offers its members. Lastly, members also find comfort in the ability to look at brewery history on the club website to get an idea of what they receive in each shipment.
On the other hand, the biggest complaint most members have about the Craft Beer Club is the lack of customization and substitution. Members are stuck with what comes in the mail and they cannot customize what they receive. Some members feel the cost per beer is a little high and the boxes sometimes lack the desired style and flair members hope to receive.
Overall, however, members genuinely seem pretty happy with what this club offers.
How It Compares
Craft Beer Club is not the only beer and wine club with a monthly subscription box. So, it makes sense to want to know how the club compares to other options before signing up. This beer club is unique in a lot of ways as it includes such things as the history on previous breweries and the craft beers offered. Most customers agree Craft Beer Club does an incredible job showing a preview of what to expect with your first shipment. With other beer and wine clubs, what you get in your box is somewhat of a mystery until it arrives.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
How long does it take to deliver?
- How long delivery of the first shipment depends on what the member selected during the sign-up process. If the member selected “ASAP,” the shipment should arrive within 10 to 15 business days. If the member selected a specific month to start, the shipment arrives roughly 10 to 15 business days after the club charges the member’s credit card. Delays can occur during holidays or if there is an issue with payment or delivery.
- Club carriers make three delivery attempts before the shipment returns to the club. If the shipment returns, a reshipping charge could apply.
Does an adult have to be present to accept the delivery?
- Because the shipment contains alcohol, it does require the signature of an adult in order to complete the delivery. The Craft Beer Club suggests shipping to work or somewhere an adult is home between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to sign and receive the package. The club does send confirmation emails with tracking information to give members a rough idea of where the package is and when it will arrive.
How do you update your shipping address?
- Members must log into their account and select the “members” tab on the website. If members need to change the shipping address on a gift they select the “gift history” tab instead. On both pages there is an option to add a new shipping address and/or update payment information.
