Get The Deal

Ipsos i-Say has a respectable incentive program. Want to check it out?

Ipsos i-Say is a division of Ipsos, one of the largest online market research firms in the world. This straightforward website lets individuals take surveys to earn points, which can then be redeemed for gift cards and prizes.

The company maintains an A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau and has served company’s marketing needs since 1975. The i-Say platform has been around since 2011, giving it a solid six years of helping individuals earn money for their opinions.

How Does it Work?

As long as you are a resident of the U.S., Canada, or the U.K. and are at least 18 years old, you can sign up for free and start taking surveys immediately. It takes a couple of minutes to sign up, and you’ll be asked a series of questions so Ipsos can funnel surveys towards your account that are relevant to your demographic.

Companies are on the hunt for consumers opinions just like yours, and they gladly pay websites like these to find out what you think. In the process, you have the chance to make a small profit for just a few minutes of your time.

Unlike other sites, Ipsos strictly offers surveys. So, you won’t find any fun games or videos to watch here. They deliver these to you both on the site and via email, then you answer a few questions to find out if you qualify for the survey. If you don’t, you still get 5 points anyway.

After you’ve accumulated enough points, you can redeem them for various gift cards for sites like Starbucks, Amazon, and Target. You can also choose between a PayPal deposit and a prepaid Visa.

Pros & Cons

  • The site is neat, clean, and simple to use. Each survey lists the points it is worth and how long it will take to complete it. Plus, there aren’t any distracting ads or offers.
  • While the selection of gift cards is limited, the options you have allow you to purchase nearly anything. Even if you don’t drink Starbucks coffee or shop at target, instant cash in your PayPal account and an Amazon gift card can be used for hundreds of thousands of purchases.

  • Attempting to take a dozen surveys only to find out you qualify for none of them is incredibly frustrating. Sure, they give you five points, but that’s nothing compared to what you could have made from the survey.
  • The user interface is known to run into problems. For instance, if you accidentally clicked one of the browser buttons before entering an answer you would be forced to move to the next page, which would cause you to forfeit the money from the survey.
  • exclamation-triangle
Different features are presented poorly. The “refer a friend” option requires you to know someone’s email instead of posting something on social media, for example. Another is the mobile app, which you have to be invited to a specific survey to use.

Ways to Earn Points

There are only a few ways to earn points on i-Say, since it a survey site and nothing else. That’s not to say that you can’t make the same earnings as you would on another site, you just have fewer ways to do it.

Take Surveys

This is your main source of income on i-Say, and nearly the only way to earn major points. Each survey takes anywhere from 10-30 minutes, ranging between 45 or 90 points. Sometimes, you can even find high-end surveys worth a whopping 200 points.

Since Ipsos tries to only send you surveys that you are eligible for, the average success rate for qualifying is around 60-70%. Compare that to an average of around 30% on the vast majority of sites, and you can start to see the appeal that i-Say offers its users.

Mobile App

While a mobile app does exist for i-Say, you have to be personally invited by Ipsos to use it. That’s a major drawback, but being accepted gives you text notifications when there are new surveys available and extra rewards for taking them. The website functions flawlessly on a mobile device, however. So, don’t let that deter you from earning cash.

Refer a Friend

Unlike most sites, Ipsos’ referral program will not earn you a single penny when a friend signs up. However, it does enter you for a chance to win $5000 in their sweepstakes. The more friends you refer, the better your chances start to look at winning a near effortless 5k.

Draws and Polls

Just signing up enters you name in the drawing for 10,000 points, which is awarded to ten members every four months. It also makes you eligible for the welcome draw, which picks out a gift for random new members. With 7-8 winners every month, your chances of winning a $120 gift card aren’t that bad.

How Much Are Points Worth?

On i-Say, 100 points are equal to one dollar. So, one point is only worth a penny. With surveys ranging from 10 to 100 points, you stand to make a decent amount of money for your time. The lower the points, the shorter the survey and vice versa.

100 points

Now, Ipsos does offer a loyalty program that will net you more points per survey as you complete more of them. Five surveys add an additional 25 points, ten adds another fifty, and so on. This incentive makes sticking around a little more appealing.

Payment Options

The number one choice might look like the PayPal balance transfer, but this can take a few weeks to process. It also costs slightly more at first ($15 = 1530 points), making it the lowest payout. Save this for a last resort option.

Gift cards are the most popular choice, especially since they are transferred instantly. Take your pick from Target, Starbucks, or Amazon. Personally, we feel that Amazon is the best choice since you can purchase anything you want from their online marketplace.

There is the option to spend 250 points on a sweepstakes entry, but prizes vary. You can also choose to donate your funds to organizations like UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders, or Habitat for Humanity.

Customer Reviews

Researching Ipsos i-Say reviews, we found that this site did not fare well with its users. For starters, many were frustrated with filling out an entire survey only to find out they did not qualify. Add that to the sometimes-sluggish system, and you have a recipe for angry reviewers. However, that’s all part of survey taking…unfortunately.

Others noted that their accounts were not credited after completing a survey and that surveys were often a lot longer than originally stated. Last, many users found that they did not qualify for a single survey for weeks at a time.

These are often technical issues, which Ipsos customer service will quickly remedy for you. Despite a heavy amount of negative reviews, their customer service is considered stellar and exceptionally speedy. However, these can still be annoying when you are trying to fill out as many surveys as possible.

Ipsos i-Say vs. The Competition

Compared to Swagbucks or CashCrate, i-Say isn’t as functional as you might expect from such a large company. It is certainly more streamlined and straightforward than any other survey site out there, but it could use a few bug fixes.

Regarding rewards, Ipsos is on par with everyone else in the field. Your points equal about the same as any other reputable site, and the gift cards cost just as much. While they don’t have the entertaining appeal that other sites do with games and offers, sometimes it's nice to focus on filling out surveys and cash in fast.

Ipsos i-Say Hacks

The only Ipsos i-Say hack out there is the sweepstakes. The normal one runs weekly, giving out a selected prize to whoever the lucky winner is. However, you might want to spend your hard-earned points on tangible cash instead of what is essentially a lottery ticket.

On the upside, the referral program gives you the chance to earn a sweet five grand for every friend entered. There’s no guarantee you’ll win, but bug your friends until they sign up anyway. The more you refer in a month, the better your chances will be.

It also helps to set aside a time of day when you will use this platform. Since you can only take surveys, this isn’t something that you’ll be able to do at work. However, you can easily fill these out while watching TV in the evening or when you would just be scrolling through Facebook anyway.

Since i-Say will only send you 4 to 6 surveys a week via email, it’s easy to pick a day or two and rack up some points to start padding your account. You’ll still be able to take plenty more on their dashboard, so set aside a decent amount of time at least two or three days a week. Just make sure to stick with it, and you will see your rewards before long.

The Deal Meisters’ Tip

If you really want to start raking in the points, stick around and fill out as many surveys as you can. The more surveys you take, the more bonus points you can earn. Eventually, they add up to some wonderfully large paydays.

The scale breaks down like this:

  • 5 surveys – 25 bonus points
  • 10 – 50 points
  • 25 – 100 points
  • 50 – 200 points
  • 75 – 250 points
  • 100 – 300 points
  • 125 – 400 points
  • 150 – 500 points
  • 200 – 600 points

Given that it takes roughly 10 to 20 minutes to complete a survey for 45 to 90 points, that works out to around 15,600 points for about 60 hours of work once you reach the 200-survey mark. Granted, that’s give or take several hundred points depending on whether you took the 45 or 90-minute surveys, but it’s still an extra $156.

Is it Right for Me?

That depends on whether you want to take the time to fill out surveys or not. If you would rather make a little extra money playing games or watching videos, then a sight like Swagbucks might be a better fit for you. If you don’t mind spending a few hours hammering away at surveys, then this is a quick and efficient way to make an extra 20-30 dollars a month or more.

Is i-Say safe? You bet! Ipsos is an enormous company, and they take great care in making sure both your information and their client’s info are kept safe from lurking internet hackers. You don’t have to worry about a virus, and they won’t spam your email account.

Deals and Coupons

The only offer i-Say has is the loyalty program. While it might be lacking on the incentive end, this program is a great way to earn extra points, especially when starting out. No other site offers the boost in points that Ipsos does simply for filling out surveys like you would anyway.

Go for it. Rack up points. Cash in.

Review Summary/Overview

Is i-Say legit? Yes, it is a way to earn money online with no scam-like gimmicks. It isn’t the most functional site in the world, but it can easily give you an extra $156 for the first month or two you use it. The tiered loyalty plan works to your advantage once PayPal deposits become cheaper than the dollar amount you’re receiving, and you can always opt for the instantaneous Amazon gift card with the bonus points you’ve earned.

We missed the fun games and other ways to earn money but found that it was easier to power through larger numbers of surveys without the distractions. All in all, you can probably make more money elsewhere. We still highly recommend milking this site dry for those tiered bonus points, though.
