What Makes NatureBox Unique?

In recent years, we have seen a rise in snack box subscription companies. NatureBox, however, has found a way to stick out from the rest of the competition. They have managed to do so by utilizing memberships, rather than subscriptions. NatureBox simply requires you to pay a $5 membership fee every month. From there, you have access to hundreds of healthy snacks that are all priced at a discount.

How The Signup Process Works

Getting started with NatureBox is very simple. Simply visit NatureBox's website and click "Sign Up." From here, you will see an option that says "Not A Member? Sign Up." When you click there, you will be instructed to provide your first and last name, email, and a password.

Now that you have an account, you are ready to select the snacks that you would like. You will then be asked for your credit or debit card information.

For your first 14 days after signing up, NatureBox rewards you with a free membership, which will give you access to NatureBox's wide variety of different snacks at discounted prices. This will also allow you to get a feel for the company, as well as figure out if you would like to continue your membership or not.

NatureBox has hundreds of snacks to choose from, and they are consistently adding new food items to their selection. They offer samples, snack boxes, and customized orders. Their snacks are broken down into the following categories:

  • Best Sellers- You can select individual best sellers, or pre-set snack box called "The Great Eight Bestsellers."
  • New
  • Coffee
  • Single Serves
  • Samples
  • Buy in Bulk
  • Cookies and Bars
  • Chips and Crackers
  • Popcorn and Pretzels
  • Dried Fruit
  • Nuts and Trail Mixes
  • Jerky
  • Pantry Staples
  • Breakfast
  • Meals and Sides

Taking it one step further, NatureBox also gives you the option to filter out your search for snack selections by using the following specific criteria:

  • Nutrition: Gluten free, Low sodium, Vegan, Paleo, Less than 10 grams of sugar, Low fat, Less than 150 calories, Good source of protein, Good source of fiber, Non-GMO, Less than 15 grams of carbs, and no sugar added.
  • Taste: Savory, Sweet, and Spicy.
  • Rating: 3 stars, 4 stars, and 5 stars.

Pricing and Value

Once your 14 day free membership has expired, you will be required to pay the $5 membership fee every month if you would like to continue using NatureBox.

With a membership, you have unlimited access to everything that NatureBox has to offer at a discounted price. Unlike many other snack subscription services, NatureBox lets you choose the size of your order. When you are ready to check out, you pay for whatever you have selected. There is no set number of snacks that you receive.

If you would happen to get a snack that were not a fan of, go ahead and contact NatureBox and let them know. They will pay you back with a credit to compensate. NatureBox customer service is not available on the phone, but they are available over live video chat, which can be found on NatureBox's website. You can ask a question by sending a quick text message to 1 (415) 212-4968.

NatureBox also offers samples for the cost of $0.99. If you are unsure of a snack, yet you would still like to give it a try, we recommend trying a sample.

Moving on, NatureBox packages will be sent to the doorstep of your home or office in a box that is about the size of a shoebox. The box has a simple logo on the front, while nutritional information for each snack will be clearly labeled on the back of the box.

Inside the box, your snacks will be neatly stacked on top of each other inside. All of your snacks will be properly sealed and clearly labeled.

Public Perception (Other NatureBox Reviews)

Most people have had very positive experiences with NatureBox and seem to enjoy the wide variety of discounted snacks that they offer. The $5 membership fee seems to be worth it for the majority of NatureBox customers.

We did happen to notice a common negative theme among many customers’ experiences, however. Most of those people were frustrated with how difficult the cancellation process was. Here is a link to NatureBox's answer to one of their most frequently asked questions: How do I cancel my account?

How It Compares

With the rising popularity of snack subscription boxes, NatureBox certainly has some competition. There are all kinds of snack and candy subscription boxes such as Japan Crate and Candy Club, for example.

Not many of its competitors offer a line of healthy snack selections as extensive as NatureBox. Most offer somewhere between 25-100 different options. NatureBox, on the other hand, offers hundreds.

NatureBox also creates separation from its competitors due to their easy sign-up process. Most other snack subscription boxes have a very simple sign-up process, but not quite like NatureBox. All NatureBox requires from you is your name, email, and password. You do not even have to commit to a membership due to their 14-day free membership trial.

One of its top competitors, for example, is Graze. Graze is very similar to NatureBox in the sense that it offers healthy snack options that will be shipped to your home or office.

Considering Graze is one of NatureBox's most prominent competitors, we'll take a look at the key differences between the two.

Graze

  • You are asked to rate different food items using a scale that is essentially what you like, what you do not like, and what you might want to try. You will then be able      to make tweaks and choose a snack box that you would like.
  • About 100 snacks to choose from
  • $6.99 for 4 snacks
  • $11.99 for 8 snacks
  • $13.99 for 10 snacks
  • $25.00 for 20 snacks

NatureBox

  • You pay a $5 membership fee every month and get access to hundreds of snacks.
  • Your membership gives you unlimited access to all of the snacks that NatureBox has to offer.
  • NatureBox offers different discounts and coupons on their snacks.

Which one has the advantage? We'll leave that one up to you. If you think NatureBox has the advantage, click here to check it out.

Am I Able to Skip My Next Delivery for Subscribe and Save?

How does the monthly membership fee work?

Is It Worth It For Me?

Now that you have read this NatureBox review, you are probably tryin to figure out if this is the opportunity you have been looking for. We recommend NatureBox for people who are looking to have healthy snacks delivered right to them. The $5 monthly membership fee with NatureBox qualifies you for discounted snacks that you have complete freedom to choose from. Graze, on the other hand, might be for you if you are looking for a similar product, but in the form of a subscription. Every month, pay a fee to have a healthy snack bundle shipped to you. In this case, we would recommend Graze for you.

Review Summary/Overview

NatureBox is a healthy snack company that will ship your snack orders right to you at your home or your office. You to simply pay a $5 membership fee every month in exchange for access to hundreds of snacks. NatureBox has many of their competitors beat because you can choose any snacks you want, as well the quantity of snacks. They are able to do this because they are a membership company, as opposed to subscription. You could make the comparison to Costco or Bj's Wholesale. For both companies, you pay a membership fee, and in return, you can go to the store at any time. They offer items in bulk, ultimately making the membership fee worthwhile. NatureBox is the same concept.

Before you join NatureBox, MAKE SURE you are aware that it is a membership company. Do not be surprised when you see a $5 fee taken out of your checking account for your membership after your 14-day free membership has expired.

I have had a wonderful experience using NatureBox. I see many negative reviews because people believe it is a scam. Those people obviously did not read the company description, because they clearly state that NatureBox is a membership company. The first 14 days are free, and then you will be charged a $5 monthly membership fee. They have a huge variety of great tasting food. It takes no time to prepare, and I am very happy with my membership.

    • Hi Gabriel, thanks for your comment! You have a great point; it is really important to read descriptions on subscription boxes because autorenewals can really shake you up when they hit your bank account unexpectedly! Hope you have a great day.

After reading some reviews, I now see that I messed up big time by not reading up on Nature Box before joining. I did not realize it was a membership. I ended up getting charged $5 the next month when I was not expecting it. Lesson learned. At the end of the day, I believe Nature Box purposely hides this from customers because it is not clearly stated on their website. Not a fan of that, but the food is good.
