Target Beauty Box Review – How It Works, Pricing, And More

Overall Rating

If Target's Beauty Box sounds like a great deal, try it for yourself.

Target Corporation is the second-largest discount store retailer in the United States, behind Walmart.

Over the years, people everywhere have grown to consider Target as one of those go-to stores when it comes to shopping. From clothes and food to houseware and office supplies, Target has it all.

Now they have introduced their newest addition to their wide list of offered products- the Target Beauty Box. This box contains monthly favorites that are sure to enhance your daily beauty routine.

How Does It Work?

Target's box is different in that instead of a normal subscription service, it's more like a one time buy each month. Instead of subscribing, all you have to do is go on the website and buy a box during the months you want to.

The box's contents are different each month, and includes an information card that gives brief details on each item, plus coupons. The card also reminds you that you can find the full-sized version of the products at

  • Reasonable cost
  • Themed boxes
  • Buy boxes on your own term
  • check
You can use all of these products in everyday life

  • Not the traditional subscription beauty box
  • Not as many well-known brands

Plans & Pricing

Unlike other beauty other beauty boxes I have reviewed, Target does not offer a specific payment plan for their boxes. You simply visit their website each month and purchase a box if it looks like something you'd be interested in. Each box costs $7 and includes 5 items that Target preselects. Sometimes they will have a special featured box, and the cost will typically run around $15.

The focus of Target's beauty box circles around self-care and cosmetics rather than lifestyle so you can expect a selection of skincare, cosmetic and hair products.

Boxes are typically released around the first of every month, and free shipping is offered to Continental US orders over $25.

Customer Reviews

This box was held in high praise amongst Target Beauty Box reviews. There were no particular problems with shipping or processing, and the cost for the value of the products is great.

Everyone loved the products they received in each month's box. Sometimes with certain beauty subscription boxes subscribers will receive items that are really no use in their everyday lives. Target provides a large array of sample sizes that can be applied to your everyday beauty routine.

One would think that because this isn't a usual box subscription-wise that it would cause a lot of complaints, but it was actually the opposite case. Customers loved the fact that they could pick and choose which months they wanted to purchase a new box.

Target Beauty Box vs The Competition

There are plenty of options when it comes to beauty subscription boxes, so how does Target's box compare to the rest?

Amongst all of the beauty subscription boxes, the Walmart box is one of its biggest competitors. There are several key differences, though, that set these contenders apart.

Walmart's box is shipped quarterly for $5, while with Target their standard box is made available each month for $7. The contents of the boxes are very similar, although this box ships more frequently than the Walmart Beauty Box.

Product Quality

Depending on the contents, boxes sell out quickly!

The majority of products are sample sizes, and even though some of the products may be from brands who are not as well known, all are great quality and 100% safe for topical use.

The calculated value of each product put together is higher than the initial cost of the box as well, so you are definitely getting your money's worth.

Is It Right For Me?

If you're someone who wants to keep up with your beauty routine, but wants to keep things simple, then the Target Beauty Box is the perfect fit for you. This box offers products that are trendy, yet are still usable in everyday life.

So in that case, if you are someone who wants to try out crazy trends and well-known beauty brands, then maybe a company like Sephora Play or Ipsy would suit you better.

Omg I am such a Target fan like I could spend hours in that store so when I found out that they had a beauty box I almost died!! I’ve been buying boxes for a couple months now and I love it – no complaints! I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised because I wasn’t expecting as nice of products as I have been getting.
